How do I connect my Arlo device directly to my WiFi router if the camera is currently connected to a SmartHub or base station?

Follow these instructions if your Arlo camera is currently set up and connected to a VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4500, or VMB4000 SmartHub or base station, and you want to connect the camera or doorbell directly to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network.

If your Arlo camera is not already set up, review the instructions on the in-package quick start guide.

Before you begin:

You must have an arlo camera that can directly connect to a WiFi router.
Your mobile device must be connected to your 2.4 GHz WiFi network, and you must connect your Arlo camera to thesame2.4 GHz WiFi network. For more information, visit How do I connect my mobile device to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network to set up my Arlo camera?.
To avoid losing your Arlo plan trial, make sure that you add your Arlo camera to the account that it was originally connected to.
When your Arlo camera is not connected to an Arlo SmartHub or base station, you can't store Arlo recordings to a local storage device.

To connect your Arlo camera to your 2.4 GHz WiFi router:

To switch your Arlo camera from an Arlo SmartHub or base station connection to a direct-to-WiFi connection, you must remove the Arlo camera from your account and re-onboard it. Exact steps are provided below.

Launch the Arlo app on iOS or Android.
Tap Settings > My Devices.
Select your Arlo camera.
Alternatively, tap theSettingsicon for your Arlo camera in the Devices screen.
Scroll to the bottom of the Device Settings screen, and tapRemove Device.
Your device is reset and removed from your account.

From the Devices screen, tap Add New Device, and select your camera.
If Arlo detects a SmartHub or base station, tap Connect without SmartHuborConnect without a Base Station.
Follow the in-app instructions to connect your camera or doorbell directly to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network.
